It is well known that metal utensils can damage the surface of non-stick pans. Most of the “plastic spatulas” seem to have a pretty thick leading edge, which makes it hard to get under whatever you are flipping. 
The Wooden Spatula that I designed is thinner at the leading edge and seems to work great..and no “Non-Stick” surface damage.
